'Celebrating £50,000 Donation of Food to Rotherham Foodbanks'
The final donation of £500 worth of food for Rotherham Foodbanks marks a grand total of £50,000 donated over the last 4 years. Rotherham Sitwell Rotary are grateful for the support given by Rotherham Rotary, Rotherham Round Table and local businesses. Special thanks are extended to Jenny Exley, Community Champion at Morrisons Parkgate store without whose help we could never have achieved this magnificent amount. As a mark of our appreciation, a presentation of flowers to Jenny took place at Morrisons on Wednesday 5 March.
Victoria Morris, Partnership Manager of Rotherham Foodbanks Rotherham wrote - "We are so grateful for the partnership between ourselves and Sitwell Rotary Club. Thank you for your support and for your belief in doing good. We simply couldn’t do what we do without amazing people like you. Roger (Green) and Trish (Lister) have been so helpful and have fostered links with Morrisons, allowing the store to add to the donations. Because of your generosity some of the most vulnerable in our community have access to emergency food parcels, debt advice, signposting services and a listening ear. Thank you Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club for all your support."
At our club meeting on 6th March, members also marked the £50k milestone with a group photo.
