Newman School - "Rotherham by the Sea"

Submitted by Anonymous on 29 June 2016

Further to an earlier news item on Newman School, a number of Sitwell Rotarians including incoming President Ann visited Newman School last Friday for their "Rotherham by the Sea" event. The work undertaken by the staff was very impressive - class teacher Cath had been to Cleethorpes to get windmills, buckets, spades and countless shells for the children: there were sandpits and water play areas, and best of all the sun shone. A visit from the ice cream van went down well (not least with our Trish!) and the fish and chip lunch made in the school canteen was followed by starfish shaped biscuits. Everyone had got into the theme and it was a really worthwhile event. Thanks go to Phil Crutchley for being main liaison on this,
