Club Annual General Meeting

Submitted by Anonymous on 27 May 2019

The Club’s Annual General Meeting was held on 16th May and gave us all the opportunity to reflect on 2018-19. The chairs of the five committees reported on our key achievements as well as giving some points for development. These included:
• An efficiently run Club with a varied calendar and enjoyable range of social activities
• The Induction of a new member, Steve Burns
• A half-way review of the Five-Year Vision event which we undertook in September 2016.
• The development of the courtyard of Shiloh to be completed June 2019
• Club funds and a District Grant contributed to a Sensory Room in Barlad Children’s Hospital in Romania.
• Support was given for four Aquaboxes
• A well-maintained website which was praised by the District Governor on her visit to the Club.
After nine years, Peter Waudby will be handing over producing the monthly bulletin to Mel Hughes. Many thanks Peter for all of the bulletins which were always informative, amusing and on time! They provide a strong record of what the Club is about.
Also, at the meeting, it was agreed to offer Honorary Membership to the incoming Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Jenny Andrews. We look forward to meeting her in the new Rotary Year and find out more about her aims for her year in Office.
A Lifetime Honorary Membership is offered to Joseph Brian Walker (Joe). He has been an Ambassador not only for this Club but also Rotary and its ideals of service above self. We should be justifiably proud of having Joe as an Honorary Member of The Rotary Club of Rotherham Sitwell.
